The village of Banovo is located 20 km west from Varna, only 15 minutes driving from airport Varna and 23 km from the sea.
Banovo is located in a mountain area and has lots rural tourism opportunities.The winegrowing is developed as well. The public buildings and the road are renovated.
The village is very close to one of the most incredible natural phenomena in Bulgaria-"Pobiti Kamani". The natural stone pillars - some reaching 6 metres high, some up to 12 metres across at their base are known as "the petrified forest" . The prevailing theory is that the "stone forest" near Varna was formed some 50 million years ago. At that time it was a part of the sea bottom. After the receding of the water the inorganic sediments eroded, thus attaining the marvelous forms we admire today.
