General information
The municipality of Avren is located in the North - East of Bulgaria, covering an area of 380 square kilometers. It has permanent population of 8.613 people, and those temporarily residing there are about 3.000. It is the sixth largest municipality in the Varna district. To the east it borders on the Black Sea, and the neighboring municipalities are those of Varna, Beloslav, Dolni Chiflik and Provadia.
The municipality of Avren is a predominantly flat country with an altitude of 0 to 380 meters above sea level and generally sloping southwards. Its relief is formed by the valleys of the Kamchia River and the Provadiiska River, and the Avren plateau, which divides the territory into a tableland region and a valley region. In general, the climate is a moderate continental one with microclimatic variances due to the influence of the relief and the Black Sea basin.

The territory of the municipality of Avren comprises 17 villages, the administrative center Avren and the Kamchia Resort complex.

Vision
Till 2015 the villages of the Avren Municipality to become calm, safe and qualitative places for the local population and the tourists. Kamchia Resort Complex should become comfortable place with its unique nature and preferable recreation resort complex.

The Kamchia Resort complex
It is located on the land of the village of Bliznatsi, at the mouth of the Kamchia River, which flows into the Black Sea. The most famous tourist attractions are the Longoza Reservation, the buffer zone of the Kamchia biosphere reservation, the protected locality of Kamchiiski Piasatsi and the Kamchia fisherman's settlement. There are two resort complexes along the coastal zone, the Kamchia North Complex and the Romantica Complex. The construction of a modern health promoting resort complex will soon be underway funded by the Moscow Mayor's Office, Russia. With its virgin nature, dense forests and clean beaches the resort is bound to develop as an international recreation center. There is a strong interest by investors in this connection. New four star and five star hotel will be erected in the near future, together with a tourist walk for ecological tourism, a College of Tourism and horse riding facilities. The Kamchia Resort Complex will rank at European level upon building of the accommodation facilities with 13,000 beds. The Municipality has many plots in Kamchia Resort, on which are being built a lot of villas, hotels up to 12 m high, attractions, SPA & Sport Complexes, medical & shopping centers.
